Greetings and welcome to my LJ. This is where I post all of my icons and banners from the worlds of Prison Break, Doctor Who, and The Office, with a couple of random fandoms thrown in for good measure. Please feel free to take any icons you want, but please don't hotlink. Also, if you could leave a comment and credit them back to me, I would be incredibly grateful. Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I'm currently posting in my other LJ at the moment to document my time in Europe, so no one think I've dropped off the face of the earth or anything. Love ya all!

Only 40 days left...

Well, big ass snowstorm heading through Missouri tonight. Tonight's night classes were canceled already, so I actually get to watch The Office and Scrubs tonight without feeling guilty about ignoring my education. I'm hoping school's canceled for tomorrow as well (ice + 6-9 inches of snow = no class, right?), but unfortunately I have little control over such decisions.

Question: If you could go anywhere in Europe for 10 days, where would you go? I need to start thinking about possible spring break locations, so any assistance would be appreciated.

so lonely
Hey all.

Haven't posted in a while, and I have a build up of icons, so I figured I should probably post them sometime. And that sometime? Is right now.

Otherwise? Life's going pretty well. Not a whole lot going on at the moment, but I leave on January 9th to live in London until the beginning of May. I'm ridiculously excited about it. Only downside is I'll have to download The Office and Prison Break, but I'm already having to do that for my Brit shows (Doctor Who and Torchwood) anyway, so I guess it's not really a downer.

The parental units are visiting next weekend to attend some study away orientation with me, then we're heading down to Steal Your Dollar City, whose prices are outrageous, but those fried potato skillet thingys are so damn good. Also, roller coasters. And lots of pretty Christmas lights. And lots of pretty ornaments. Yay for Christmas.

Is it weird that I love the unbridled commercialization and secularization of Christmas?

Don't have anything in particular to say. Just wanted to use this icon once.

...cause it's pretty.

Yep.

In other news, I'm going to be a German Beer Garden Girl for Halloween. My hair will be in braids, but no lederhosen. Discuss.

And since I've been somewhat bored/slightly down recently,
Short and Long Term Things to Look Forward To:
1. Prison Break on Monday
2. The Office Season Premiere on Thursday
3. Home on Friday
4. Torchwood premiere sometime in October
5. Halloween
6. The Annual Thanksgiving Drive-and-Eat-a-thon
7. Possible trip to MU for a weekend of debauchery and memory loss?
8. Christmas
9. New Year's Eve/Going Away Party
10. Moving to London

Long time, no post. I know.

Mexico was great. Had a wonderful time with my family and got a tan, so that's always good. Now I'm back at school, which isn't particularly enjoyable, but my classes aren't bad. In January, I'm starting my semester abroad. I'll be in London until at least the end of April/beginning of May, but possibly July. I'll continue to post about all my exploits in foreign lands, don't worry.

Oh, and The Office has completely grabbed me, so that's one more fandom to make icons for, and boy, do I have a lot of icons behind the cut...

Icons from Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Office, Prison Break, and Doctor Who!

Textures by a variety of places, including Trextures, LuthienBlack, and Colorfilter, among others I can't remember for the life of me.

Original Trilogy and Miscellaneous Icons

Not a whole lot to ramble about. I'm done with my internship, spend most of my time sleeping/making icons/playing PS2. Yes, I know I have no life. Anyway, I'll be in Mexico for a week at the beginning of August, so I probably won't be posting any more icons until mid-August at the earliest. After that, it's off to the lake for a couple of days, back to school, then my grandparent's "anniversary party" which really means a big kegger with fireworks and the traditional "White Trash Volleyball." At least all of those are...completely awesome!

Multi-Fandom Icon Extravaganza!

Woohoo for fandoms!

In other news, my internship ends on Thursday, and despite my not wanting to spend my entire summer photocopying, I'll kinda miss it. Not sure what I'll do with my time now. Maybe I'll try writing some fic.

Anyway, my trip to Mexico is coming up, y estoy mucho...excited. Yeah. I don't remember much Spanish. Bah. Alas, a week on a beach/beside a pool with an all-inclusive bar is just what I need. Can't drink too much around the kiddie cousins though. Must remember that.

On to the icons. Behind the cut are...
[6]-Star Wars EU
[6]-Prison Break (I know...long time, no see)
[6]-Doctor Who

Yes, I'm an equal opportunity icon maker.
Please credit! No hotlinking!

Well, I stopped crying long enough to make some icons:

I've now watched today's episode of Doctor Who five times.

And how many times have I ended up crying at the end?

Five.

I can't even remember the last time I cried. I can remember crying in four movies total in my entire life. But I've had a large number of tears shed tonight. Just the look on the Doctor's face and the screaming and the amazing music (I'm going to find a copy of that no matter what) and the pounding on the wall and the Bad Wolf and the beach and the "You're not..." and the "I love you" and the tears rolling down the faces of both the Doctor and Rose. It was all so...fantastic. And the Daleks vs. Cybermen battles of wit were hilarious. And the looks on Mickey's and the Doctor's faces when Jackie said there'd been "no one else."

If I could, I'd kiss every person who worked on this season.

Now, if Martha turns out to be a ninja lesbian nun, then I'll be really pleased. No more shippiness in the Tardis for a while, pls? Thnx.

Now I'm off to read some happy AU fic and probably watch the end one more time. I guess I'm just a sucker for a good cry.

Doctor Who: The End of Rose...?

  • Jul. 6th, 2006 at 7:23 PM

You know...it's pretty sad that I have no life outside of work to comment about on here, but that's ok with me. I don't think people really want to hear my musing on how much I hate staples.

Doctor Who's season finale is Friday, and the 10/Rose shipper in me is sad. Alas, I will keep watching, because I am its bitch. At least I still get my Michael/Sara, Katie/Oliver, Jacen/Tenel Ka, and Jag/Shawnkyr lovin. As for the lack of Emmy nominations for Prison Break? Well, the academy can just suck it. Suck it long and hard. The season of PB was waaaaay better than the second season of Lost, and I LOVED the first season of Lost. Grey's Anatomy, I just don't get the hype over. I've watched it. It's entertaining. But I really want to just slap Meredith around (though, if I backhanded her, I'd probably break her neck, the poor waif) and tell her to shut up because I sure as hell don't give a shit.

And that is why I would make a terrible divorce lawyer. Because I just don't care. At all.

In other news, can't wait to see the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Huzzaha for pirates! (Actually, I'm currently wearing my "Pirates are better than Ninjas" shirt)

Anyway, I have some icons. Mainly Doctor Who, as that's my only fandom that currently going strong, and in honor of this Saturday's finale. Got one SW icon too, and it's by request of Tris: Lumiya!

Icons ahoy! )

A Limerick...wha?

  • Jun. 30th, 2006 at 4:41 PM
oh noes!
So some of the communities I'm a member of have been discussing limericks recently. Now, in most circumstances, I'd let the opportunity to write a fun little limerick pass me by, but inspiration struck. Inara, in all her silly wisdom, gave me a plot bunny:

Molestation by blue people.

Now I am in no way approving of molestation, but molestation by the blue-colored citizens of the world/galaxy did intrigue me. Personally, if a certain blue citizen named Athan tried to get frisky with me...well, I wouldn't say no. And so, I present a limerick in horrible taste, but damn, those blue people are tricksy.

It'll piss you off...don't say I didn't warn you. )

Waaaaay too many icons.

Yeah. Haven't posted in a while, but hopefully this multitude of icons will appease the icon gods that be. Even added a new fandom, so Star Wars EU, Prison Break, and Doctor Who icons after the break...

In other news, it's my 20th birthday tomorrow. Huzzah!

As for TF.N, well...I haven't been visiting there very often. In fact, I deleted it off of my bookmark list a while ago. If I ever decide to write more SW fic, which I probably won't, but who the hell knows, I'm doubting if I'd even post it there. I mean, it was nice to write a fic that people really liked and the whole cover art fiasco was definitely amusing, but...eh. I still need to finish that prOn for Inara (and I will finish it), but I'm kinda hard up for inspiration at the moment (pun intended). Maybe the ninja plot bunnies will return and I'll write a sequel to Being Wanted, but for now...I'll just let it be.

...no, I'm not listening to The Beatles.

One More Fandom Added to the Mix

Yeah...
So I've become totally enamoured with the second season of Doctor Who. I'm not quite sure why I love it so much. Maybe it's the plots. Maybe it's the writing. Maybe it's David Tennant.

It's probably David Tennant.

Alas, I have to get my supply of 10th Doctor goodness through less than legal means, as they haven't even started airing the second season in the US yet. Oh well. It's worth it.

The Redhead Series

So about that summary for Betrayal...aka: A Higher Purpose but less intricate. Damn Inara. You must be psychic or something because AHP and Betrayal match up in some very creepy ways. Now if they put a ho-bot in Betrayal, then you know something's up. And since it amused me oh so much, here's a recent chat with Tris about the subject and the future of the LotF series, especially poor Allana's fate:

TrillianTK: yeah...and if the solos qualify for kidnapping material, she's like 50 times as likely
TrillianTK: i mean...she's actually important
JediTristan: mmhmm
JediTristan: yah
TrillianTK: gawd...i can already see the, "No, Allana...I am your father" scene
JediTristan: HAHAHA
JediTristan: awesome.
TrillianTK: and she'll be like O.O
JediTristan: hahah yeah
TrillianTK: and then go back to whatever she was doing before...cause she won't give a shit
TrillianTK: she's from Hapes! men suck!
JediTristan: especially deadbeat crazy dads!
JediTristan: who are sith!
TrillianTK: exactly!
JediTristan: haha
TrillianTK: and then Jacen will get all frustrated cause this isn't turning out like he'd hoped, and then he'll just send her back to Hapes
JediTristan: or kill her.\
TrillianTK: with a note that says, "Right. I don't want her. -Jacen"
JediTristan: carved into her skull.
JediTristan: i'm sick.

Since Tris so creatively recommended that I do a series of icons for the redheads of the SW EU, I got to work earlier today. Since this is summer, and I have nothing better to do, I finished the series rather quickly. So lots of redhead icons behind the cut, as well as some Tahiri and Allana (whom I guess I could have made a redhead, oh well).

Zekk Icons! Yes, really. Zekk.

I've been a really bad scholar and avoiding studying for the past few hours, so I made a bunch of Zekk icons instead. Why Zekk, you may ask? Why not? He's awesome. Let's go down the list, shall we?
1. One of the coolest backstories of any SW character. Ever.
2. He's tall, dark, and handsome.
3. He's loyal (to a fault).
4. He was a bounty hunter!
5. He's spent years perfecting the art of crawling through vents, an art dabbled in by Qui-gon, Obi-wan, Anakin, Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewie to name a few.
6. Lots of other stuff I can't think of right now.

Oh, and the first person to comment gets a set of icons of any SW character they wish (though I would prefer not to do Jaina or Zekk, as I just did those).

Anyway, Zekk icons behind the cut, or if you prefer, Marek Boura icons behind the cut.

Woohoo for Holiday Weekends!

  • May. 4th, 2006 at 11:35 PM
oh noes!
I'm going up to the University of Missouri to celebrate Cinco de Mayo tomorrow (yes, I know I'm not Hispanic, but I believe in celebrating our diversity...and drinking), so I thought I'd leave some rather unusual (for me) icons. They're all for Prison Break, so sorry to all the SW folk who read/lurk here, but I'm currently trying to write some new stuff as requested by Inara and I'll try to make some SW character icons when I get the time. With finals coming up soon, I'm getting slightly pressed for free time to do anything, but I still manage to spend way too much of my time on reading fic and other assorted things...bah. Who needs time management? Not me, I say. Anyway, some rather depressing PB icons behind the cut for everyone to enjoy.

Icon Requests

Quick Meme:

- Comment and I'll pick one of your LJ interests and make you an icon.
- You have no say in what I make. Haha!

Come on...you know you want to. Oh, and lots of pretty PB icons should be posted tomorrow sometime. I've been on a icon making spree since the Jaina set I made for [info]tools_adrift's birthday. Hmm...maybe I'll tackle another character soon. I've already done Shawnkyr and Jaina, but I'm not sure who I should use next. Leave some suggestions please!

Farewell TF.N???

  • Apr. 24th, 2006 at 2:34 PM
oh noes!
Perhaps, I say. Perhaps. There really isn't a whole lot keeping me at the site. Mainly, the only fics I read are by Inara/Feefi/Trep, so maybe I'll just read them elsewhere and comment on IM. It's more fun to discuss stories on IM anyway. If I get something else written (and I'm going to try and write some Shag next week), it's difficult to say whether or not I'll post it on that site. I mean, the constructive criticism and comments from others of different ideas and pairings are enjoyable, but I'm not quite sure.

There are other places I can post, and it'll definately receive more accolades, but that's not the point of writing. When I write something that I feel deserves posting, I want to put it out there for people, whether to enjoy or judge is up to them. Writing for the purpose of praise seems...pointless. There's no way to become a better artist if you just get "This is the best story in the history of mankind!" as a comment, ya know? I enjoy discussing my writings with people who aren't afraid of making judgements and suggestions because it really improves my storytelling abilities and it forces me to take some criticism.

Really, the only reason I still visit the site is to keep up on the hilarious drama. Stalkers, signature snipes, and sabotage...it's great. I mean, it takes a LOT to piss me off or really laugh (I have very thick skin and a personality described as "indifferent"), so it's nice to have a steady supply of humorous material. Real life is hard enough, so it's nice to visit a site so far from the logical and rational. Now if they could combine Homestar Runner and TF.N...that would be an escapist's paradise.
